Occupational therapists working in paediatrics help children to develop, maintain or restore skills in the areas of self-care, school work and play as these are a child’s main areas of occupation. Children may present with difficulties in one or more of the following areas:
- Motor co-ordination skills such as riding a bike
- Fine motor skills including handwriting
- Independence with self-care activities such as dressing
- Visual perception skills
- Sensory processing skills
