The cost of suicide

Our dear friend and colleague, Dick Moore doing a great job is dispeling some of the many myths around mental illness – particularly in young people. Here he talks of his own experience of his son’s suicide.
We had dinner with them – including young Barney – the month before he died……
Around 4,400 people end their own lives in England each year – that’s one death every two hours – and at least 10 times that number attempt suicide.
