I am a Senior Specialist Dietitian. I currently work in an 18 bedded child and adolescent eating disorder unit alongside my private outpatient case load. I have worked in a mental health setting for over 14 years and I pride myself in my empathetic and client centred approach to my work.
My specialist areas are Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating disorders and disordered eating patterns as well as IBS (FODMAP) and weight management.
I have worked in several eating disorder units over my career, both NHS and private. I have excellent experience in adult and child and adolescent eating disorders in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Previous to my current role I held Gastroenterology and weight management posts in the NHS.
I also have a passion for education about diet practices and disordered eating and have given many talks at conferences, schools and medics as well as writing pieces for the press.
When I am not working, I am busy at university completing my MSc in High intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, walking my dog and being a mummy to a wonderful little lady.

An initial appointment will be around an hour. In this appointment a history of your eating and weight will be taken. I ask you to bring a short food diary with you, between 3-5 days.
As well as this we will plan goals of treatment and start thinking about how to move towards them.
During the initial and follow up appointments we will look at beliefs around food and think about the evidence behind them; consider support or supervision needed, and I will provide psychoeducation around your eating. We will also problem solve things that have come up since the last appointment and review progress and goals.
After appointments I will send an email summary of our appointment and any meal plans or resources discussed.
The frequency of follow up appointments is a collaborative decision, this could be weekly, fortnightly or monthly if required.
SKYPE appointments are also available.
